FAQ

Lorem Ipsum is simply dummy text of the printing and typesetting industry. Lorem Ipsum has been the industry’s standard dummy text ever since the 1500s, when an unknown printer took a galley of type and scrambled it to make a type specimen book. It has survived not only five centuries, but also the leap into electronic typesetting, remaining essentially unchanged. It was popularised in the 1960s with the release of Letraset sheets containing Lorem Ipsum passages, and more recently with desktop publishing software like Aldus PageMaker including versions of Lorem Ipsum.

Polycarbonate panels withstand extreme weather conditions due to their strength and flexibility. They do not shatter consequently they are safer than glass, which is especially important in a domestic environment and the vicinity of children and the elderly. The low weight of the panels – less than 1kg – makes the greenhouse easy to deliver, handle, assemble and also relocate – an assembled 6×8 harmony greenhouse weighs less than 45kg. Polycarbonate complete shields from the harmful effects of UV radiation and protects everything inside the greenhouse: people, plants, pots, tools etc.

Polycarbonate inherently absorbs up to 100% of harmful UV radiation; it provides complete protection but in order to maintain its properties and integrity for many years it needs to be protected. Palram Polycarbonate panels for exterior use have an embedded UV protective layer that must be installed outwards facing the sun. Twin-wall or multi-wall panels have a “This side out” marking (see attached example); please make sure you install them accordingly and remove the marking after installation.

Polycarbonates are a group of thermoplastic polymers. Their strength and toughness allows them to be used as either commodity and or engineering plastics. They have superior service temperature range, impact resistance and optical quality. For more information please refer to the “Why Polycarbonate?”

The stability and long-term usability of grounded products heavily rely on the preparation of a firm foundation for placement and fixing. Foundation must be level and sized to match the product’s dimensions with room to spare for access and ventilation. The lack of a firm foundation may result in product warping, window or door not closing properly, damaged frame and failing of the product in high winds and extreme weather conditions. The foundation must also be able to drain out the water to prevent stagnation and promotion of algae, insects etc. The surface must ba solid, such as concrete ground/slabs or asphalt. The screws and anchors must be compatible with surface type. A ground cover is highly recommended before installing any kind of foundation. If your site has high moisture content you will need to install a vapor barrier, a 6 mm black plastic.

Each wall section can carry up to 44 lbs. at most – an entire wall would depend upon the greenhouse’ size.

It can be anchored to a foundation, depending on the greenhouse, some have compatible holes at the bottom of the greenhouse base, and some have their own integrated anchoring. Yes, the greenhouse can be anchored to concrete slab. It can be anchored directly to the ground using ground stakes (ground stakes are not supplied with the greenhouse kits).

*Firmly connect the product to a level surface immediately after completion of the assembly. Anchoring this product to the ground is essential to its stability and rigidity. It is required to complete this stage in order for your warranty to be valid.

The Palram Greenhouse can be used year-round, there are several factors to consider. The two main factors are weather and plants. What are the plants you want to grow and how much heat or cold can they handle? No matter where you live, greenhouses can be 20-40 degrees hotter inside during the day and at night they will be the same temperature as the outdoors. This is without any supplemental heating or cooling. Depending on where you live, heating and / or cooling your greenhouse can make the difference. If you need to heat or cool your greenhouse in extreme weather conditions, you may want to consider a twin-wall greenhouse such as the Palram Glory Greenhouse which has a 10mm polycarbonate covering.

It is not possible to add an additional door.

Greenhouse accessories can help you make the most of your greenhouse space by customizing it to your specific needs; making gardening more efficient, productive and approachable. Clear floor room by using shelves, use additional vents and louvres with manual or automatic openers to stabilize heat and humidity levels. For complete accessories listing please visit our Accessories page.

The stability and long-term service of a greenhouse relies heavily on the preparation of a firm foundation for placement and fixing (See further advice in “Is it necessary to prepare a level foundation for grounding products” at the General FAQ section). If you install a greenhouse on a ground with low moisture content it is highly recommended to use a ground cover or weed barrier, which will allow water to drain through the fabric while keeping weeds from growing.

Greenhouse series differ in their glazing types, frame material, size and available accessories. Clear polycarbonate provides maximum light transmission, whereas twin-wall provides high insulation and transmits 70% diffused light that protects from strong sunlight exposure. Hybrid glazing greenhouses have twin-wall roof panels and clear walls, which practically provide light diffusion and a clear view sideways. Aluminum frame is light and compact, whereas the PVC resin frame of Rion greenhouses has excellent insulation.

In addition, It is imperative that the ground surface be perfectly flat and leveled and in a 90° angle to the supporting wall.

The structure can support a ceiling fan hanging from it, it can be installed using the beam’s built-in tracks. Please make sure you install the fan and the wiring in a secure way, you may consult with a handyman as to how to attach it to the top.

I am assuming you are referring to a stationary RV. If this is the case, you need to make sure the RV’s size is suitable to the requirements. You will need to find the compatible screws and plugs in order to attach the SanRemo to the RV. In addition the SanRemo requires a solid foundation such as concrete, asphalt etc. and the back is supposed to be attached to a structure wall (such as a house’s wall). Should you attach it to a vehicle; the lower part (where the wheels are) will remain open.

The SanRemo can be installed on a deck and attached to a house with vinyl sidings. Please consult with an expert / constructor with regards to the screws and plugs you should use for your specific wall type and trex deck.

There are screen doors that can be added (to be purchased separately) and these can be installed without removing the existing doors.

The sound of the rain makes a nice ambient sound, also depending on the rain’s strength.

*The rain noise is not loud. It is actually quite soothing. Doesn’t bother anyone in this house at all, it’s just a little ping noise. Kind of like one of those rain sticks noise makers

The patio cover structure can support a ceiling fan hanging from it. Please make sure you install the fan and the wiring in a secure way, we recommend consulting with a professional.

There is a way to increase the shade, by using Palram’s patio cover roof blinds’ kit.

The patio covers provide shade; the light transmission percentage differs between the different patio covers and the different panels. Different color awnings have different colored panels; therefore provide different light transmission percentage.

It is best to use a snow rake that’s made of plastic.

It can be attached to a mobile home or a camper, please take the following into consideration:

  1. It can be attached to a mobile home if it is stationary.
  2. Please refer to the minimum recommend height.
  3. It is possible to assemble at a lower height; however, the patio cover will not have the same roof pitch.
  4. We provide an assembly kit suitable for Brick and concrete, any other wall type will require a different solution. If you are not sure how to install, please contact a local expert / constructor.
  5. Please refer to the warranty.

The Feria Patio Cover can be attached directly to a brick veneer wall, please consult with an expert regarding an accordant wall fixation kit for this wall type.

You will need to anchor the patio cover on to the deck, using suitable screws and plugs; you will also need to have the required minimum height at the back to mount it on to the wall at the back.

In order to install the patio cover on the roof pitch, you will need to plan and install a beam on the roof where you can then attach it to it. This is neither included in the patio cover’s kit not is it covered by the warranty.

There needs to be a pitch in order to allow the water to runoff (come rain or snow).
*I need to install lower, too. After studying the drawings and parts lists, I plan to order and install at something under 100 inches. Although it will void the warranty, the support posts can be shortened to keep the pitch within the recommended range. Shortening the posts would lower the gutter edge of the awning, but when you’re installing in unchangeable real life conditions, voiding the warranty and having a lower gutter edge may be acceptable compromises. The posts are aluminum extrusions that will cut nicely with any chop saw with a carbide-tipped blade. If you’re not comfortable doing that yourself, most handymen or contractors should be able to help you out. 90 inches is 7’6″, and a 13 degree pitch 10′ from the wall will result in a gutter height of about 5’2″. If you’re in the tropics and don’t have to worry about snow load, you could probably flatten the angle to something less than 13 degrees to raise the height of the gutter edge. You will have already voided the warranty anyway, so what the heck? An 8.5 degree slope would make the gutter height 6’0″. 10 degrees makes gutter height 5’8-13/16″. A bigger problem for me is that I can’t use the entire 10 feet the awning extends from the wall, so I have to shorten all the ribs and polycarbonate panels. After looking at all the specs, this, too, seems do-able, once I accept that it will void the warranty.
*I would think this is because of the load rating, if you have a flat pitch on the roof and get any type of a snow load, than you might run into a risk of the patio cover collapsing. And with rain fall, the rain might want to run towards the house, plus it would put more weight on the wall mount.

The patio cover’s structure and design enables a flexible positioning of the poles and wall mounting plate; allowing you to set your required height at the wall connection, the distance from the house and between the poles at the front.
