We have just finished putting this up. It took about eight hours in total. I was a bit sceptical about the polycarbonate window when i first saw them, but once in the frame it all feels very sturdy. One thing that was outstanding, and quite unusual with ‘build it yourself’ products, was the clear instructions. All parts were labelled clearly and the pictures for each stage of the build were large on A4 size pages. I’m envisioning many happy hours working in this greenhouse.

We purchased the greenhouse through Amazon and it arrived in two corrugated plastic boxes which do an excellent job at protecting the kit during transit.
It was some time before we got around to building the kit but it was relatively easy with detailed instructions and all parts were numbered.
I managed to build the kit on my own, with only the occasional “can hold that while I fix a bolt in here”. In total it took about 8 hours to construct, although I did it over 2 days.
The supplied “socket” for tightening the nuts works fine but, as I was to find out a few days later, it really needs a proper socket to do the job properly.

Four days after I finished construction and we had started to use the greenhouse, we had a storm in the late evening. Normal wind speeds for our location have never been above 45 mph, but this night we had gusts of up to 65 mph. The result was the wind caused the roof vent to open, despite it being tightened earlier in the evening, and once that was open the low pressure inside greenhouse caused the uprights either side of the door to be pulled from the base and the front imploded.
Luckily we saw this happen and, before the wind destroyed the greenhouse, we managed to clear the greenhouse of plants and shelving and take the it apart, with the wind still blowing, to try and save as much of the kit as we could. The only damage was to the corner braces, most of which bent, and few other smaller parts which were either broken or blew away during deconstruction. All of the panels survived, despite some of them being bend double, without even a crease in the plastic.

I contacted Palram directly and explained the events, gave them a list of parts I needed to rebuild the kit and asked how much to supply & post the parts. They soon replied and explained that they had sent the order to their warehouse and the parts would be posted to me free of charge. They also included a re-designed latch for the roof vent as this was stronger than the original. You can’t get better customer service than that!

The parts arrived within the week and I reconstructed the greenhouse, but this time I made some additions. I used a socket set to tighten all the nuts & bolts, I added a flat washer & locking washer to every nut & bolt and I made a couple of locks for the roof vent (see one of the photos) to stop it opening or moving.
With these additions the whole structure is much more ridged than it was to start with and has survived 40 mph winds from the same direction, without flinching.
I can’t thank Palram enough for their customer service and the Halmony is an excellent self-build greenhouse that is now helping us grow our own veg.
All the photos are of the re-constructed kit, with some of the additions I made.

I’ve had this greenhouse for three seasons. It is holding up really well. The clear panels are not discolouring and was up nicely.
I had a 6’ 4” diameter birch branch fall on it and it didn’t break the panel. The panel popped out a bit and bent but was easily put back in and straightened back out. So very strong. Live in northern Canada with winters down to -40. Summers get up to 40 Celsius or 104 Fahrenheit. Open both the window and door when it gets too warm and sunny and it cools of fine. I built a horseshoe raised bed in it with a cement brick path. Works well.
It was a lot of work putting it together but the instructions were helpful. I used a portable parts storage to organize the screws, etc. and labelled the bins. That made it a lot easier to assemble.

We purchased the greenhouse through Robert Dyas during lockdown. We didn’t hear anything for a while, which was understandable. I contacted Palram Customer Services, who chased the Robert Dyas order and contacted me promptly to confirm, that it would arrive the following week.
On delivery I checked all the parts, which contain a decent amount of spares. We built the greenhouse over one weekend, when the weather was good, and it is fairly straightforward using the detailed manual. My wife only had to help me with some of the later stages and is very pleased with what is her XXth birthday present.
